What are veneers and how are they used?
Veneers are made from porcelain and are fitted onto the front of a tooth. They can be used cosmetically to improve the appearance of your teeth, helping to make teeth look:

How are veneers fitted?
This is the process our dental team will take you through if you are having veneers fitted:
- Come in for a consultation. We listen to your needs and wishes, ensuring we understand what your current concerns are and what you’re hoping to achieve with the treatment. Some people want Hollywood smiles whereas others want subtle changes that look more natural. That’s why we spend time with you at the very start to ensure we can give you what you want.
- Digital X-rays, digital scans, photographs and videos. Records are taken to ensure we take into consideration the full face from various angles. After all, you want to make sure you have a smile you are happy with for life. Our philosophy is do it once and do it right.
- Wax-up. This is basically a trial smile. We spend some time on the PC (CAD-CAM) and hand sculpt wax onto the models of your teeth to get to an ideal cosmetic result. Once this has been done we can transfer this onto you very quickly to see what it would look like. This gives us the opportunity to see what improvement can be made before we even touch your teeth. If needed, the wax-ups are adjusted until we are both happy.
- Preparing your teeth. Teeth are prepared in a very minimal, gentle way to accommodate the veneers and new, temporary veneers are placed. The temporary veneers will look great and be as close to the final outcome as possible. We normally give you a few weeks to try them out, which gives you the opportunity to see what they look like in your own time. It also allows us to check the bite and speech. Once we are happy we can take a scan and ask the laboratory to make the final veneers by hand using high-quality porcelain.
- Fitting the veneers. Before we fit the veneers we ensure you are 100% happy with the outcome. If not, we send them back to be adjusted until you are happy!

Hi I'm Nancy, Just I would like to share with you my experiences with after having some Dental implants abroad. I went to Colombia (my home country) to do my tooth implant thinking that I would save money, this was a big mistake. Yes I spend some time with my family, but for nearly 2 weeks a could not enjoy my food and the sunny days outside. Then I have to return to Colombia to finish the job, after 3 months to make sure the implant was strong enough to hold the teeth, but I needed to stay in Colombia for at least 3 weeks , which it was difficult for me to take that time off from work plus the tickets and more the money to spend there , I realise that I was spending even more money than was expected! So I decided to stay and finish the implant here in the UK. A good friend of mine recommended me an expert Implant dentist in Elephant and Castle ......it was the most terrible experience that I never been through - I lost £600 , he couldn't put the teeth on the implants. Then I went to Gentle Dental Care in Croydon with not much hope and mentally shocked for my experience with the other dentist. Dr Mish gave me so much comfort and also the whole team, after having a detailed 3D X-ray. Dr Mish explain to me what was happened in a very clear way that I ask him if he could finish the job. In just 3 appointments in a gentle and professional manner not just with my mouth but also with the trauma for my previous experience Dr Mish was willing to perfect finish the job. Now I'm able to eat and enjoy my food and smile with confidence. I don't have the exactly words to express how grateful I am with Gentle Dental Care! I had some veneers with them 8 years ago and I wish I’d just stuck with them from the start.

I have just had my final implants and veneers fitted this week and the results are amazing. I visited the practice with Dr Mish 13 months ago and got a plan for my periodontal disease. He gave me great advice and listened to my needs and I was able to progress with implants for my front uppers and lower jaw. It was a painless process and everything was explained clearly with checks and support throughout. I was also referred to Dr Kam and he exceeded on his promise to deliver a beautiful smile. He took great care to understand what I was looking to achieve and given the state of my teeth and my past gum disease I now have my confidence restored and a set of beautiful and natural teeth. If you are reticent or unsure about implants I would say go and see the team here as they will put you at ease and show you what is possible. You will be amazed at the results and also how painless the implant process can be. My only regret is not doing this sooner. The whole team are fantastic and friendly and will keep you calm, comfortable and informed at every visit. The best dental practice around in my opinion and again my thanks to everyone at both Shirley Road and Wickham Road for contributing to such a successful and transformative outcome for me.

I have just had my implants and porcelain veneers completed at this practice, and I can't stop looking in the mirror at my new smile. Outstanding work by kam and his team they are all so professional, nice and friendly. I'm so glad that I chose this dental practice, which was actually recomended to me from a dentist at another gental dental practice. It's been a long journey to get where I am today but it was time well spent. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who maybe thinking about getting professional work with their teeth, if you have any worries or phobias with dentistry then rest assured the team here are experts and will make you feel so relaxed and comfortable. Telephoned late Saturday afternoon with broken composite veneer. Going away Monday a.m so needed prompt treatment. Dr. Anhaar Mohamedali called me back within the hour and agreed to see me. Excellent customer service, attentive and informative., I really can't thank her enough. She is not my regular dentist but think I may change and use this practice for future dental care Highly recommended
