Dental Implants

You are here:

A permanent replacement for missing teeth.
Get your smile back

Dental implants are one of the most effective ways of replacing missing or loose teeth. A medical-grade titanium implant is gently placed into the jawbone which helps to secure a dental crown or bridge. Dental implants can help replace single missing teeth, help to secure and stabilise dentures and also help to replace all your missing teeth by securing a full arch dental bridge. Implants look very natural and are a popular option for patients who want the best outcome, or patients who are looking for a permanent, natural tooth replacement option.

What are dental implants and how are they used?

Dental implants are tiny titanium metal cylinders which are gently placed into your jawbone. Over a few months your jawbone bonds with the cylinder to form, in effect, a false tooth root.

Because implants use titanium anchors that are fused into the jawbone they provide steady support for artificial teeth, are more secure and look and feel like natural teeth. If you choose implants, you can eat and brush as if you still had your real teeth.

  • Single implants can be used to replace single missing teeth
  • Multiple gaps – implants can be linked together to replace multiple missing teeth. You don’t need an implant for every missing tooth
  • Teeth in a day – replace all your teeth in one day!
  • Implant-retained dentures – secure your loose dentures with just two dental implants

How do you decide whether implants are right for you?

The first step is to come in for a full examination so that we can assess the current condition of your mouth. Once this has been done we can explain all the different options available to you along with the pros and cons. Together, we can come to a conclusion on what the ideal treatment is for you. Each individual is unique. We can then write you a detailed, tailored letter which outlines the treatment plan to suit your needs and explains the treatment journey.

These are some of the most common reasons why patients choose dental implants:

  • They can last a lifetime when properly looked after
  • You can eat whatever you want
  • Stops your bone from shrinking away
  • They are fixed in place
  • Value for money as they last longer than any other option

Implants for nervous patients

We are experts in helping nervous patients gain a new smile, without pain or worry. Our dentists are highly trained and will make the experience comfortable for you in any way they can. If you are especially nervous about implants, we can offer you IV or oral sedation. Dentistry doesn’t have to be painful or stressful – just talk to us about your worries.

New teeth in just one day

Same-day teeth is a concept where all your teeth are taken out (if needed) and implants are then placed on the same day which secures a full set of fixed teeth. This is a specialist service that only a handful of dentists can provide. It’s perfect for busy patients or for people who don’t want to wait for a new smile.

Some other options to replace missing teeth

Implants are the most permanent option for replacing missing teeth, which is why many of our patients love them. However, if you don’t want to have surgery, there are other options you might want to consider. Crowns and bridges can be used to restore heavily chipped or damaged teeth, and dentures can also be used as a removable tooth replacement option.
