What is Botox
and How Does it Work?
Anti-wrinkle injections usually consist of treatment using botulinum toxin. Botox® is the best known brand however there are others such as Azzalure. Your expertly trained clinician will explain the differences and chose the right one for yourself.
Botox® (botulinum toxin) works by blocking the nerve receptors that are responsible for causing these muscles to contract. The nerve receptors are very specifically targeted which means that you can carry on with your day-to-day life without worrying about unwanted side effects.

Is Botox safe?
Botox has been around for about 20 years with very few reported side effects when delivered by professionals. There are some unwanted effects which usually resolve very quickly, and these can include slight swelling, bruising and redness around the injection site.
Botox is used to target very specific muscles and therefore any unwanted side effects are avoided.
How Long Does Botox Last?
The effects of Botox are temporary and will typically last around 3-4 months on average. After that period the muscle activity will slowly regain. Once the muscle is fully restored the skin will go back to its previous appearance. It’s common for patients to return at frequent intervals during the year to maintain the results. If performed correctly your skin will retain a natural younger appearance.
